OLLIE OTTER ATTENDS SAFETY HOUSE AT FAYETTE WARE HIGH SCHOOL

Ollie Otter was invited to participate in the 2nd annual Safety House at Fayette Ware High School.  Coordinator and FCCLA sponsor, Penny McKinnie hosted the event for the preschool classes of Fayette County. Olle was joined by the Fayette Co. Library, the Red Cross Safety House, the Fayette Nurse, the Fayette Co. Sheriff's Dept., the Somerville Police Dept., and the Somerville Fire Dept.  Preschooler traveled to each area and received stickers, fire hats, coloring books, and bookmarks.  Ollie taught about booster seat and seat belt safety and hung out with McGruff the drug dog.  It was a successful day and the preschoolers had a lot of fun.

The Ollie Otter Program teaches booster seat and seat belt education in elementary schools. The program provides classroom materials statewide. To contribute to the program click here for more information.
