OLLIE LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE
On Tuesday, September 1st, the new seatbeltvolunteer.org made its first appearance on the Web. The brand-new, user-friendly website is a helpful tool in coordinating school activities across the state. The website is also key in signing up and recruiting new volunteers to our cause. And most importantly, it allows the parents of the children Ollie presents to to have a place to go and learn more about the Tennessee Booster Seat Law. In addition to that, they can view the artwork we have received from elementary schools across the state, and the children can play exciting online games.
Paul Harrison, the Web Developer for Tennessee Technological University’s Business Media Center, says “It is a very interactive website and is a lot easier to use. There is a lot of fun content to browse through.”
From the homepage you can now “track” Ollie’s statistics, including the number of schools, volunteers, classrooms, and children the program has reached. You can also view upcoming events from every page. There is also an easy one-click subscription to the Ollie newsletter. There is a new survey box, where visitors to the page can give us their opinions on various topics. Tennessee is not the only state on board with the new website; there are now maps of all the active states involved with the Ollie the Otter program. New instructional videos have also been added for those looking to volunteer in the future.
