OLLIE JOINS COMMISSIONER MITCHELL AT SUPERINTENDENTS CONFERENCE

Ollie the Otter joined Commissioner of Safety Dave Mitchell at the 61st Superintendents' Annual Conference and & Professional Development Workshop to discuss the importance of bringing Ollie into elementary schools across the state. Volunteers from Tennessee Tech University including Julie Brewer, Kevin Liska, and Amanda Brown attended the event.

Also joining Ollie was Jay Short, representative from the Tennessee Board of Regents' Ready2Teach program. The Ready2Teach program has teamed up with Ollie the Otter to create a free public service course housed through the Regents Online Continuing Education (ROCE) program. The course contains a problem-based learning module that teachers can implement in the classroom using a seatbelt safety example.
